The story of four cucumber plants

Four Cucu Sisters on an epic journey

A story of survival, in an intensive grow room environment.

Will they survive to bear fruit ... ?

Let us journey together with them to see how they cope!

14th November 2023 - 0 day

Germination was actually on the 11th, but this was the earliest I took a photo.

Cucumbers, I had learnt just after sowing seed, are notorious to transplant / pot up, they hate their roots being disturbed!

Great, I thought.

30th November 2023 + 16 days

They survived their transplant, yes, there were a few days where they did absolutely nothing. As did I ... easy to get lost wandering what is wrong in those few days, some growers even make the mistake of "tending" to a problem that isn't even there. FEED IT, WATER IT, do something!

NO ...... leave it be, let it get over the shock of what you just did to it!

4th December 2023 + 20 days

Bounding along, greedy little things, especially for potassium.

Got some healthy roots showing out of the bottom of the pots. I'll be potting up in the next day or two.

An excuse for another installment.

Flowers and suckers already showing.

There are both flowers forming too. But, because of the compact nature of the plants, it is difficult to get amongst them and snap a picture.

They'll have a good stretch once repotted, that will give me a chance for better imaging.
